....today i would have loved to have walked trough the rose or japanese gardens at the huntington library and or strode trough the many houses holding henry's art collections .....
my good friends fathers worked or works at this place as a mechanic and any free time we had from work we would take a trip to visit....what i liked most was that we got to see what was behind those curtains/those walls passed what other visitors were able to see....the owner desired was testing fruit and inventing one of his own...and had acres and acres of test try trees.
i can remember walking trough tree after tree of beautiful samples of citrus's practically getting lost....lol and sharing a much needed beer with the workers after the walk trough the acres of land...it was an absolutely beautiful trip....this is the shit that is embedded in my mind and i will never forget....as well as...
-taking a afternoon to drive down to knots berry farm just to get some fried chicken and to fill up on their infamous boysenberry punch
-the smell of evergreens right outside my parents house and listening to them talk trough the santa ana's...
-chicken and waffles early saturday or sunday morning
-negotiating prices downtown at the fabric/ garment district
-cricket games and dog parks
-the farmers market off of 3rd-the fairfax flea market
-my sisters....may--caint come soon enough.
-my parents, my grandmother, my aunts, my family....
